I only booked two restaurants in bcn and espai kru is one of them. EK has totally exceeded my expectation.
Opted for the lunch tasting menu (100 eur) and it lasted a good three hours. We were the first table to arrive and one of the two last tables to leave.
I was glad I booked EK towards the end of my trip because after five days of endless meat/seafood tapas and dishes, about two third of the tasting menu were "kru", or raw fish like sashimi. I was dying for some sushi and this worked out perfect for me. So if you are not a big fan of raw seafood, this may not be your restaurant.
The tasting menu did not include steak tartare (16.50 eur) so I ordered it as an addition. It was good but not the best because they added a tad too much sauce so it overpowered the steak tartare. I did reflected it to the waitress so hopefully it will be improved somewhat.
Other than that, excellent raw fish restaurant with great service. I want to go back now!
If you have the time,you have to try the tasting menu. It is quite the experience and the Asian Peruvian flavors are amazing. It was top notch seafood prepared with an artistic flare. The service was knowledgeable and great. The only advice is the pace your tasting. We ate so fast in the beginning that we could not get to the end!
Super delicious, five stars, would eat again any day. My fiancé and I dined here on our honeymoon after having a bunch of mediocre food all over Europe and fell in love with this place. It's a small joint that doesn't seat a huge number of people so be sure to get a reservation or you may not get a seat. If we ever make it back to Barcelona, you can bet this will be our first stop.
