A well hidden jem in amongst a mix of average bars and restaurants, owned and run by a very happy and polite Italian gentleman who's name I sadly didn't get. The ambience is quiet, the seating spacious and it's secluded nature makes for a very intimate location surprisingly. It's only when you look closely or try to move the furniture, that you realise it is all solidly made from pallets.. The menu is on the simpler side offering extremely well made pizzas and burgers, but I was totally impressed by the positive attitude of the owner when, at 9pm and wanting more than a pizza, I chanced my arm and asked by any chance did he have a fillet steak, to which he said "Leave it with me".. 30 minutes later and after a quick trip to the supermarket, I was presented with a most succulent and beautifully prepared steak, far beyond what I could have hoped for. Everything from the rich mushroom sauce, to the grilled courgettes, and the skinny chips all had to be freshly prepared as they did not feature on the menu.. As it turns out, the owner was 18 years a top chef in Rome and was delighted to be asked to cook properly again. All in all, a great meal, reasonably priced considering the circumstances, and a lovely experience.
