After 42 countries and over 437 restaurants , I finally found the perfect paella in plaza espana 9. The food is just out of this world.... the service, outstanding. I initially just walked in by mistake and now it will become my second home in Madrid,Spain. The place is unique and very particular. Alex and his brother Juan make you feel like family. Lastly, you can actually eat off the floor from the bathroom. That's how clean the bathroom is. An experience you MUST have in Madrid.

After sightseeing all day we came in for a very late lunch. From reviews I read I wanted to try the mix paella since it's one of the best in Madrid. We were seated by the table near the window and ordered right away since we knew what we wanted. My friend and I split the mixed paella which comes with shrimp, calamari, crawfish, chicken and sausage. We also ordered two big glasses of the sangria.
The paella took about 45 mins to make since all the paellas are made to order. While we were waiting we were sipping on our sangrias which were delicious! The only thing was that it was a bit too sweet for me and I could taste the grains of sugar at the bottom of my glass.
The paella finally came and it was a beautiful site to see ! So colorful with the different elements in the dish. The rice was cooked perfectly and everything was seasoned well. It was a bit oily though when you scrape the bottom of the pan to get all the rice but it was delicious!!! During out meal the owner and our waiter has a disagreement about something and were yelling at each other across the restaurant. Kind of disrupted our dining atmosphere but overall the food was good and our service was good. Def. Recommend this place to anyone who wants a good plate of paella and glass of sangria!

Excellent! Wonderful service , delicious and best of all, flavorful food! Best "croquetas de jamon"! The chef's brother, Alex, was welcoming and charming.
Best food, best drinks, and all traditional! The owner gave us his back story on why the food is SOOOO good! His brothers cooks and was taught by his mother who use to cook for her 20+ family members! We ate al fresco after visiting Plaza de España, stopped due to all the tables being full and we did right! EAT HERE ITS WORTH IT! (Eat the paella and sangria!)

Su hermano es el cocinero y aprendio de su mama que cocinaba para 20+ miembros de la familia! Comimos afuera despues de visitar el plaza de España, paramos porque estaba lleno y hicimos correcto! Coma aqui vale la Pena! ( especialmente la paella y sangria!)
The staff were incredibly friendly to our family. They made good suggestions for food choices the kids would like. The food came out hot and quickly.
I appreciated their use of ripe veggies- avocado in particular- for many of their starters. The seafood paella had a generous portion of shrimp/langostino and calamari.
For dessert they offered natural ice cream served inside its own fruit.

Wow. Just wow. I had the pig knuckle and I just pulled the bone right out. I never picked up my knife the whole time. My nephew had ox tail and never used his either. My wife shared the paella and was super super pleased. I'm coming back!
My wife located this place on yelp as we were touring the city. It was further than I wanted to shlep and I wasn't sure I could rely on yelp in Spain for restaurant tips but I'm so glad she insisted on this place. It took more than 45 minutes to get our chicken paella but boy was it worth it. Amazing flavors. Cooked just right. Later on our trip we tried paella 4 other times in Spain and Portugal and other paellas were average at best.
Great service, very pleasant atmosphere. Next time I'm in Madrid I'm heading back to my favorite paella spot.
Great place in Plaza España. Owner is very friendly. Loved the sangria. The oxtails were the special and they were delicious. Paella was done very well. Save room for dessert. We shared a flan and some melon ice cream (served in the melon) and both were wonderful. Watched soccer the whole time as well.

Today me and my friends arrived to this wonderful restaurant looking for a good paella dish to try and I gotta say we just got best seafood paella in Madrid!. The spanish ham we got was also top notch and delicious! The person who served us, Juan was very charismatic and a wonderful person. Totally recommend this place if you are looking for a tradicional paella dish.
Great food, amazing drinks especially the sangria and great service. Would definitely go back here when I booked another trip to Madrid.

I must add that they were too great to us that gave us references for the best places to visit before leaving Madrid. Guess what? They were right! We are so thankful to them!
We waited 40 mins for our fresh paella and it was amazing. The service was fab. Will come back.... well i am still here eating but will be back soon!
Un sitio genial, de los que no te esperas encontrar en pleno centro de Madrid. Lugar muy tranquilo y agradable, con un servicio excelente y muy dispuesto. Menú del día a 12 euros con raciones generosas y todo casero. También los postres, cómo no. Más que recomendable.
Suelo ir bastante a menudo,la comida es casera y siempre está todo buenísimo.
Las chicas te atienden fenomenal.
La única pega q pondría son los postres,casi siempre hay lo mismo,en el menú del día te ponen un montón de cosas q luego no hay aunque vayas a primera hora.

Excelente experiencia para repetir, no solo por la exquisita comida sino y especialmente por la calidez con que nos atendieron cada vez que fuimos!! Será uno de los momentos vividos en Madrid que recordaremos con mucho cariño!
Buscábamos un lugar para merendar y fue excelente. Pedimos cafés e infusiones, croasant mixtos y lo mejor, en mi opinión, el bizcocho marmolado. Puede ser muy simple pero está exquisito, me lo han servido con leche condensada y chocolate sirope. Éramos 5 y gastamos 6 € por persona .
Hoy estuve comiendo en este local y la verdad es que muy bienn el menú por 11.60€,en pleno centro de la ciudad.La comida muy bien como siempre hago en mis valoraciones calidad/precio.
Y como fantástica la atención por parte de la camarera,agradable ,atenta y simpática en toda la comidas Enhorabuena.
La pasta y la natilla bastante bien, el cachopo dejaba algo que desear, tenía un empanado demasiado gordo y le restaba sabor, por el precio que es está de lujo el lugar, unos 11€ el menú.
Buena comida casera a muy buen precio. Recomendable su flan casero!

Vinimos de casualidad, pues en nuestra visita a Madrid nos hospedamos en el espahotel plaza España que está al lado y el servicio de Restauración lo tiene concertado con está cafetería. Nos ha sorprendido gratamente. Es una cafetería pequeñita (mejor reserva), acogedora y su personal super majo, Laura, Cris y Elena te hacen sentir como en casa.
La cocina es pequeñita, lo que hace que aveces haya algún retrasó, pero os garantizo que merece la pena la espera, ya que después la comida lo compensa, todo muy rico, se nota que son platos caseros y buenas raciones.
Todo recién hecho, calentito y los postres todos buenísimo, aunque las peras al vino no las probé, pero el flan y tarta de queso muy buenos.
Sin duda, recomendamos este restaurante, precio adecuado para la calidad del producto, menús diarios y platós combinados a buen precio.

Buen lugar, excelente ubicacion y las meseras son muy amables y serviciales, hacen agradable la estancia en el lugar
Comida rica a un precio ajustado, sitio muy limpio y en cuanto dejan una mesa la desinfectan. Las chicas siempre se están riendo y son muy amables y simpáticas. Lo único que no me gusta es que no hay aparcamiento en superficie cerca y la máquina que tienen para pagar que le quita toda la cercanía camarero-cliente.
Lo teníamos cerquita, así que lo visitamos varias veces. Los churros con chocolate bien y los sándwiches muy buenos. A la hora del menú no vayais a tomar nada que no sea comer el menú, dos días que fuimos a tomar café y no nos atendieron a pesar de tener mesas vacías. Nos molesto bastante y no volvimos.
He ido varias veces a esta cafetería y me gusta muchísimo. Excelentes desayunos, muy completos: zumo de naranja natural, cruasanes, napolitana, churros, pan tostados con tomate y aceite, etc....
También he ido al mediodía, los menús están muy bien de precio, y muy buena la calidad, comidas y postres caseros.
La cafetería tiene una segunda planta que para hacer una reunión familiar, de empresa o de amigos es extraordinaria
Yo una de las veces llevé a 11 amigos. Avisé con tiempo y nos tenían la mesa preparada y una persona estuvo pendiente solamente de nosotros. No tuvimos que compartir el espacio con nadie más.
Es un lugar acogedor y muy agradable, es una pena que sea poco conocido.
